Fusing Paper Glass
Fusing paper glass makes it possible to design images between layers of glass. There are a number of choices to choose from. You can easily create your designs and sandwich the shape between two pieces of glass. Glassline paper, dichroic slide and fusing photo paper can all be fired between layers of glass. The papers are compatible with all glass COEs. Glassline paper comes in an assortment of colors. The paper comes in a package of 3 to 5 sheets. Each of the sheets measures about 5” by 5” or 10” by 10”. This fusible colored paper can be cut with scissors or punched with paper punches. Read the firing instructions that come with the sheets. It comes in assorted colors and different textures. Dicro Slide™ can be used to create incredible designs with paper punches or scissors. Just cut or punch the slide to your desired shape and apply it to the clean glass. This slide has no COE; therefore it is also compatible with all glass types. Fuse it between layers of glass, or on top of a piece of glass. There are many colors and patterns to choose from. The sheets are approximately 3-1/5" x 8".
Fusing photo paper
is a little more complex to use than the other two types of fusing paper. With this paper, you can transfer photographs, pre-printed designs, stamped impressions, etc. This paper is a ceramic transfer paper and needs to be printed using a high carbon laser jet printer. The package contains ten 8-1/2" x 11" sheets and instructions. The image is black when printed on the printer, and then turns a sepia tone when fired in the kiln.
